Eighty-eight Buddhas Great Repentance
Introduction
Recitation of Li Fo Ta Chan Hui Wen, or the Eighty-eight Buddhas Great Repentance in English, is one of the greatest repentance sutras. By reciting it, you are sincerely seeking the help of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, including Guan Yin Bodhisattva to repent and cease karmic obstacles due to negative karmas from the past and present lives. Some of its great powers include: repenting negative karmas created during past and present lives; seeking forgiveness from someone you have hurt in past relationships; resolving long-term conflicts; and repenting inappropriate actions such as being disrespectful to Buddhas or Bodhisattvas, or damaging statues or images of Buddhas or Bodhisattvas.For Daily Recitation
Generally once and up to 7 times per day. It is suitable for reciting everyday until the end of life, and can be recited day or night.Prayer
Before reciting this sutra, you can say your prayer or wish as follows, “May the Great Merciful and Great Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva protect and bless me, ＜your full name＞, help me to repent and eliminate karmic obstacles due to negative karmas in ＜the body or parts of the body＞, grant me good health and great wisdom.”Note
After reciting the Eighty-eight Buddhas Great Repentance, if you feel soreness or discomfort in any part of your body, it means that the negative karmas have been activated and transformed into foreign spirits. This is a good signal. You can deal with it now, which is better than waiting for it to emerge as a serious illness later in life. You should recite 4 or 7 Little Houses and address them to the “Karmic Creditor of ＜your full name＞”. If the pain is severe, recite more Little Houses until you feel better.Also known as

Several years ago, I wanted to change from a career in finance to one in education. It was very difficult, given the sluggish job market. One day, I learned from Master Lu’s teachings that karmic debts blocks one’s career path. Knowing that repentance is the way to get rid of bad karma, I kneeled down in front of the Buddha altar and recited the Eighty-eight Buddhas Great Repentance Text. I was in tears and repented of how I was petty-minded and intolerant, and how I was unwilling to share my knowledge before. Amazingly, the second day after my repentance, I got an offer of an interview and found a job in education. Guan Yin Bodhisattva answered my prayer within 48 hours after my repentance! I did it, and I believe you can too.

In 2006, when I was 19 years old… as mentioned by Master Lu. We are likely to encounter calamities during the age years containing 3, 6, and 9. That year I was diagnosed with dengue fever. I was in great pain. I experienced untold torment physically and mentally. I had fever and I felt cold, I suffered vomiting, diarrhoea and even incontinence. Despite my serious condition, my father refused to let me seek medical treatment. Later with the help of an aunt, I was hospitalised for three days and I got well after that. But dengue fever is an illness which is difficult to recover from fully. It can recur anytime. My lungs, liver, digestive system, and heart have been damaged.

There were many times where Guan Yin Bodhisattva mercifully responded to my difficulties in urgent situations and provided a solution — when I was suffering from mental disorders and even with trivial matters like wanting a taxi when I was going to be late for school. What I can say is that Guan Yin Bodhisattva and all Bodhisattvas (of higher powers) really do exist, they are real and are very benevolent, and their power, love and mercy are forever encompassing, over-reaching and unfailing.

I wish to share my story about my experience with Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door. I was an anxious and nervous person since childhood. As I can recall during June 2014, I was diagnosed with breast cancer during an examination. My physician said that it was a disease that a minority (almost 25%) would be affected. At that moment, I was confused, afraid, and do not know what to do next.

I’ve been looking for a job since the beginning of this year. I prayed to Guan Yin Bodhisattva for help during the Chinese New Year. Master Lu instructed me to release six hundred fishes and recite the Cundi Dharani 108 times per day. He said that I would have a stable job by April at the latest. If I wanted this to happen sooner, I could use the merits I accumulated from being a vegetarian. One day in March, I got a call from a big company for an interview. Everything went smoothly and I got the offer!
